DECREE BY THE PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE

On the Institution of the Order of Princess Olha, Award of the President of Ukraine

In order to reward services of women in the development of Ukraine, thespiritual revival of nation, the bringing up of children and in accordance with Item 25,Article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine

be it further enacted that:

. The Order of Princess Olha, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class, award of the President of Ukraine (hereafter the Order of Princess Olha), is instituted.

2. The Statute and the description of the Order of Princess Olha, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Class are approved.

3. The Order of Princess Olha is awarded to women for their distinguished personal services in state, production, public, scientific, educational, cultural, charitable, and other spheres of social activities, and in bringing up children in the family.

4. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is to provide financial and logistical support for making the insignia of the Order of Princess Olha, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class and award certificates.

STATUT

of the Order of Princess Olha, Award of the President of Ukraine

I. General Provisions

1. The Order of Princess Olha, award of the President of Ukraine (hereafter the Order of Princess Olha), has been instituted for awarding women for their distinguished personal services in state, production, public, scientific, educational, cultural, charitable, and other spheres of social activities, and in bringing up children in the family.

2. The Order of Princess Olha is instituted in three classes:
Order of Princess Olha, 1st Class;
Order of Princess Olha, 2nd Class;
Order of Princess Olha, 3rd Class. The 1st Class is the highest.

3. The Order of Princess Olha is conferred on citizens of Ukraine sequentially starting with the 3rd Class.

4. Foreigners and persons without citizenship are eligible for the Order of Princess Olha.

5. The Order of Princess Olha of the highest class can be conferred on foreigners and persons without citizenship depending on their services.

6. Receipt of the Order of Princess Olha of the next class is allowed not earlier than three years after receiving the Order of the previous class.

7. The Order of Princess Olha cannot be granted posthumously.

8. The Order of Princess Olha has a badge of the Order.

9. Badges of the Order of Princess Olha of every class are numbered in a different way.

10. A holder of the Order of Princess Olha can be deprived of the decoration by the President of Ukraine if the holder is condemned for a serious crime, after the recommendation of the court and in the manner envisaged by the law.

II. Procedure of Recommendation for Awarding the Order of Princess Olha

11. A recommendation for granting the Order of Princess Olha is submitted to the President of Ukraine by central executive bodies, the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea, regional administrations, Kyiv and Sevastopol city administrations, as well as central bodies of creative associations, public societies, religious communities with written endorsement by local executive authorities.

12. The Commission for National Awards of Ukraine under the President of Ukraine may give its own recommendations for conferring the Order of Princess Olha.

13. A recommendation to grant the Order of Princess Olha to a person is submitted to a higher authority. As a rule, candidates are suggested in an open way by the institution where the person to be awarded is employed.

14. Recommendations for awarding the Order of Princess Olha to foreigners and persons without citizenship are submitted by the Heads of diplomatic missions of Ukraine in other countries to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, which submits them to the President of Ukraine.

15. A standard recipient's form is enclosed with the recommendation.

III. Procedure for Awarding the Order of Princess Olha

16. The Order of Princess Olha is awarded in public with all the proper solemnities.

17. The Order of Princess Olha is awarded by the President of Ukraine. The President of Ukraine can entrust a Head of a central executive body, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea, Ambassadors of Ukraine, Heads of regional administrations, Kyiv and Sevastopol city administrations, the Head of the Commission for National Awards of Ukraine under the President of Ukraine with awarding the Order of Princess Olha.

18. The recipient of the Order of Princess Olha receives the badge of the Order and the award certificate.

IV. Ways of Wearing the Order of Princess Olha

19. The badge of the Order of Princess Olha is worn upon the left breast.

20. The badge of the Order of Princess Olha is worn after the awards of the President of Ukraine: the Order of Prince Yaroslav The Wise, the Order For Merit, the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, and the Order For Bravery.
The badge of the Order of Princess Olha is worn before awards of other countries and those of the former USSR, if the holder has any of them.

V. Providing Duplicates of the Insignia of the Order of Princess Olha

21. Duplicates are not provided in the event of loss (damage) of the insignia and the award certificate of the Order of Princess Olha, except the cases when the holder was unable to prevent the loss (damage) of the insignia or the award certificate.

22. Duplicates of the insignia of the Order of Princess Olha and the award certificate are provided by the Commission for National Awards of Ukraine under the President of Ukraine at its own discretion at the expense of the holder or free of charge.

VI. Storage of the Insignia of the Order of Princess Olha

23. The badge and the award certificate of the Order of Princess Olha remain in the family of the holder after her death as memory.

24. Heirs to the late recipient may hand over the badge and the award certificate of the Order of Princess Olha to the Commission for National Awards of Ukraine under the President of Ukraine for constant storage without right of return.

25. The insignia and the award certificate of the Order of Princess Olha belonging to a person deprived of the Order are to be returned to the Administration of the President of Ukraine.

26. Insignia of the Order of Princess Olha and award certificates are stored in the Award storeroom of the Administration of the President of Ukraine.
